Data quality controls are built into WRDB. Projects can be password
protected such that non-Supervisors are restricted from performing selected
functions (e.g., deleting records and performing QA/QC validations). The
workflow might include data entry/import by junior engineers or technicians.
Each record entered is individually tagged by username. After the dataset is
ready, the Supervisor will perform a variety of actions to assure quality.
These edits are all captured (either mandatory or voluntary) in a journal
table. The Supervisor finally validates the records and transfers them to the
Master table (see below).
In enterprise environments, strict limits on permissions can be imposed
by IT staff on even Supervisor access to the database schema.
